Community of Caring Sponsor-- Mrs. J. Brown

Hall-McCarter Middle School participate in the national "Community of Caring" character education program sponsored by the Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. Foundation.  In Community of Caring schools, teachers learn to incorporate discussion of five core values Caring, Respect, Trust, Responsibility, Family into existing textbook materials, athletics and every day school activities.  The purpose of this program is to create a caring and respectful school environment in which students begin to understand the relationship between their values, their decisions, and their actions.

        Homeless Sack Lunches -  Neighbor to Neighbor Program - 100 lunches
                                               per month
         Canned Food Drive
         Coat Clothing Collection
         Baking for Homeless and Adopt-A-School Partners
         Christmas Gifts - Community Service League
         Volunteering at nursing homes
         Baby Food Drive
         Harvesters
         Special Olympics
         Collection for Wild Wood Camp         Open Gym Night for Students and Parents

          Family Fun Night ( February 10)

        Family Week  (March 20-24) - Includes activities all week during
        school and evenings to emphasize family importance.
 
 

     All 8th grade students - The focus for all activities is to promote
        responsible decision making based on values.  This form will include
        speakers, teen panels, small group discussions with High School
        students and team building activities.
