ATHLETICS
Interscholastic athletics are offered only to 8th grade students
in the following sports: girls' volleyball, boys' football, girls' and
boys' cross country, girls' and boys' basketball and girls' and boys' track
and field. Hall-McCarter Middle School is a member of the Missouri
State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) and through its membership
agrees with and strictly follows all standards, rules and regulations set
forth by this state organization.

INTRAMURAL
Intraschool activities are available in a variety of areas for all
students in all grades. The school's activity director arranges the
intramural based upon the availability of the school's facilities.
Intramural activities are held both before and after the regular school
day.

Panther Singers -- Mrs. Burge
Panther singers is an auditioned choir for 6th and 7th grade students
that meet Thursdays after school until 4:15.
Honors Choir -- Mrs. Burge
Honors Choir is an auditioned choir for 7th and 8th graders that
rehearses most Wednesdays after school until 4:30. Each section practices
one morning per week - soprano on Monday; bass, Tuesday; tenor, Thursday;
alto, Friday.
Jazz Band -- Mr. Lee
Panther Band -- Mr. Lee
Forensics -- Ms. Demayo
Want an activity that will help you develop your speaking and leadership
skills? Participate in forensics, it will improve your communication
skills, and introduce you to new friends. Team members include seventh
and eighth grade students. They can participate in activities such
as duet acting, poetry and prose reading, public speaking, improvisations,
humorous or dramatic interpretation. Hall-McCarter Forensics Teams
has enjoyed many successful seasons.
Drama -- Mr. Adkins
Each year the Hall-McCarter Drama department presents a musical
in February. The auditions are held in December and students rehearse
for seven weeks after returning from winter break. All students can
audition and the cast usually includes thirty actors. There are six
performances of the production. In addition, there are positions
available for set building, lighting and sound crews as well as backstage
crews. If students enjoy acting and singing live on stage, they should

Leadership Council Sponsor -- Mrs. Hatfield
Student Leadership Council is an elected group of students that
meet twice a month during the school day. The purpose of the
group is to represent the needs and interests of fellow students to the
administration, to promote school spirit, and to encourage school involvement
for all students. Members os Student Leadership Council represent
Hall-McCarter Middle School by displaying positive school citizenship and
strong leadership skills.
